2006-01-01: HTTP Master Mirror Added
OSXGNU.ORG has added an HTTP mirror to it's Download Choices for those behind firewalls. The new Mirror runs at http://www.osxgnu.org:8888/osxgnu Note the PORT of 8888 this is allowed by most proxies on the net.
Please Note this new mirror is NOT browse enabled you may access files only.
The implementation uses the THTTPD engine from Acme Limiting the bandwidth that can be used and removing non-friendly WEB spiders from the mix.
Our bandwidth was quite overloaded durring the holliday season. By adding better bandwidth limiting on the http and ftp sides we hope to more evenly distribute the load to everyone and provide better service to everyone.
Please do not use downoad excellerators as the will just slow down YOUR download and fill our logs with deny requests
